Upper Lake, Clear Lake, Willits join Timberwolves at Hidden Valley Lake conference match

HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE >> Fort Bragg won its first Coastal Mountain Conference North match this season, shooting a 399 to beat out Willits, Upper Lake and Clear Lake on Wednesday afternoon at the par-72 Hidden Valley Lake Golf Course.
Willits, the defending North champion, came in second with 412, Upper Lake had 431 and Clear Lake 433. Team scores are determined by the combined total of the four low individual scorers for each school.
The North has had a different team champion each of the first three weeks. Clear Lake won a week ago at Brooktrails while Upper Lake came in first two weeks ago at Buckingham Golf and Country Club.
Through three of eight conference matches, Fort Bragg now leads the North with 16 points followed by Upper Lake (14), Clear Lake (13) and Willits (11). Teams receive six points for a conference win, five for finishing second, four for coming in third and three for taking fourth.
The low round of the day belonged to Cole Lane of Willits with a 12-over-par 84. Fort Bragg’s Ash Hebden (91) and Oscar Magee (96) were next in line followed by Tyler Collins of Upper Lake (97), Francis Rivera of Clear Lake (99) and Jaden Nunez of Upper Lake (100). Nico Kidd of Fort Bragg carded a 104.
The CMC North meets again Tuesday at Little River in Mendocino beginning at 11 a.m.
