(Published during the high school sports season)

(For the week of Nov. 24 through Nov. 30)

Boys

Middletown High School football offensive line

Take a bow Emmitt Lloyd, Brody Costlow, Jack Harper, Wyatt Harris and Anthony Mendoza, because you deserve it. Thought to be the weak point for Middletown when the 2025 football season opened, this all-underclassmen line is now a team strength, according to head coach Kurtis Woodard, and is still getting better as the Mustangs make a deep postseason run that carries them into next weekend’s NorCal playoffs. Costlow, Lloyd, Harper and Mendoza are only sophomores while Harris is the “old man” of the unit as a junior.

Girls

Mati Mateer (Sr.) Kelseyville High School varsity basketball

Mati Mateer scored seven points and pulled down 15 rebounds as Kelseyville officially opened the 2025-26 season with a 57-29 loss to the Fortuna Huskies on Saturday afternoon in Fortuna. Mateer is one of the returning veterans from Kelseyville’s 17-9 squad last season that tied Middletown for the North Central League I championship.
