Lancers beats Upper Lake in straight sets to secure LCJHAL championship

UPPER LAKE >> Mountain Vista Middle School’s A volleyball team clinched a perfect season Saturday with a 25-15, 25-14 victory over Upper Lake in the championship match of the Lake County Junior High Athletic League tournament at Upper Lake High School.
The Lancers went 10-0 in league play and 21-0 overall during the season, including wins in both of their postseason matches against Terrace Middle School (Lakeport) and Upper Lake. They were the No. 1-seeded team in the tournament, which took place Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday in Upper Lake.
All-Tournament honors went to Cassidy Hanson, Nya Martinez and Allyson Leary. Other Mountain Vista team members were Annabelle Badar, Kaitlyn Train, Aubrey Mullin, Karen Martinez, Madison Meza, Maylee Antoni, Monica Martinez and Hazel Hanson.
The Lancers are coached by Sara Hanson and Becky Knox.
