Team members compete in Chico, Tulare, Rocklin and Middletown

CLEARLAKE >> The Gladiators Wrestling Club certainly gets around. Team members competed in tournaments at Chico, Tulare, Rocklin and Middletown during the past week, pulling down awards at all four locations.

Chico

Maverick Paminto placed first in two different divisions, going 8-0 overall with seven pins and one technical fall during the Jr. Joe Rios Invitational. In the process, he won his 50th match of the season.

Brantley Paminto also placed first in two different divisions, pinning all six of his opponents.

Brayden Paminto came away with a second-place medal while both Colin Crow and Kaitlyn Crown came away with two medals each, one for second and the other for third. Other thirds went to Jaxden Maitland and Mattix Paminto. Jason Nehring came in fourth.

Tulare

Elijah Tucker finished second in one division and fourth in another during the Cal Republic Invitational.

Rocklin

Gary Oakes went 4-0 with four pins while Kailaya Philpot went 2-0 with one pin to bring home first-place medals from the Quarry Pit tournament in Rocklin.

Earning seconds were Colin Crow, Kaitlyn Crow, Alley Oakes, Lily Oakes, Brantley Paminto, Maverick Paminto, Thomas Philpot, who earned two second-place medals, John Young, Brayden Paminto and Logun Whittle.

Thirds went to Hector Barocio and Laylony Barocio. Among other placers, Neveah Barocio and Jameson Philpot came in fifth while John Young and Jameson Philpot were sixth.

Middletown

Earning a first-place medal in Middletown was Kameron Colston, who went 5-2 on the day including a third-place medal in another division. Other firsts went to Brian Cosigua, 3-0 with one pin; Olyver Dugger, 3-0 with three pins; Michael Garner, 2-0 with two pins; Alyssa Hopkins, 2-0 with two pins; Sebastian James, 2-0 with two pins; Joseph Szupello, 2-0 with two pins; and William Villa, 4-0 with three pins.

Second-place medals went to Anastasia Garcia, Jaxden Maitland, Judah O’Keefe, Hayden Janssen and Cameryn Gamble-Ray.  Taking third place in their respective divisions were Riley Garner, Ayden Santiago, Robert Besgrove, Kameron Colston and Adin Griffen.

Fourth-place finishes went to Harper Stiles, Averie Stiles, Alex Mark-Martinez and Wade Drew. Fernando Calvillo and Michael Klingenfuss came in fifth.

Schedule

The Gladiators compete Sunday in Cottonwood at the Jr. Eagle Invite at West Valley High School.
