Wrestling brings home six medals from Jr. Knights Tournament in Rio Linda

RIO LINDA >> Amara Boone, Gabriel Navarro and Cristian Navarro of the Northshore Wrestling Club all won their weight divisions Sunday during the SAWA Jr. Knights Tournament in Rio Linda.
Gabriel Navarro also won a third-place medal while competing in a separate division.
Other Northshore medal winners were Novalee Janssen (second) and Liam Walston (third). Keegan Janssen came in fourth.
“I thank the kids and parents for showing up so soon after the holiday,” Northshore head coach DJ Navarro said. “A special shoutout to Amara Boone, a second-year wrestler who was smart and tough today. Things are starting to come together for her and it showed. She earned her first gold medal.”
Northshore’s wrestlers return to action next Sunday at the Bulldawg Bash in Folsom.
