Kelseyville girls go 3-0 in tourney action, improve to 4-0 on season

SANTA ROSA >> Elizabeth Berry has her first tournament win as the first-year coach of the Kelseyville High School junior varsity girls basketball team.
The Knights won all three of their games Saturday during the Piner Tournament at Piner High School in Santa Rosa, notching lopsided wins over their three opponents. Aubree Sperber earned All-Tourney honors in the process after leading Kelseyville in scoring during wins over Middletown, 36-10, and Credo of Rohnert Park, 35-7. Sperber had a double-double against Middletown with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Against Credo, she finished with 16 points and five rebounds.
Kelseyville capped its 3-0 tournament with a 50-22 win over Napa, led by 20 points and eight steals from Grace Hobbs.
In the win over Middletown, Jordyn Wurm joined teammate Sperber with a double-double of her own as she scored 11 points and pulled down 15 rebounds. Hobbs added six points, eight rebounds and seven steals.
In the Knights’ victory over Credo, Hobbs finished with eight points and seven rebounds, Kendra Devries added six points and Riley Hansen had five.
Against Napa, Wurm finished with 14 points and nine rebounds while Hanson added 13 points and nine rebounds. Hobbs also had six rebounds.
Kelseyville is now 4-0 on the season. The Knights hit the road again Monday to play McKinleyville, part of a four-game set between the two schools.
