Senior libero Harbison earned All-Tournament honors for Mustangs

ST. HELENA >> Jordyn Harbison’s All-Tournament performance helped lift the Middletown High School varsity volleyball team to a third-place finish in the St. Helena Tournament on Saturday in St. Helena.
“She was all over the court,” Middletown head coach Erika Galvan said of Harbison, the Mustangs’ senior captain and libero who recorded a total of 70 digs in five matches. “She kept encouraging everyone and hustled hard all day.”
Middletown beat Pinter 25-23, 25-19 and St. Helena 25-22, 25-20 before falling to San Rafael, which rallied for a 26-28, 25-13, 15-11 win. The Mustangs bounced back to defeat St. Patrick/St. Vincent 25-19, 25-27, 16-14 before losing to Cloverdale 25-16, 25-23.
Other Middletown leaders were outside hitter Emma Davis with 35 kills, 37 digs, 15 aces and two blocks; middle hitter Brenna Goodloe with 16 kills and 13 blocks; setter Bridget Lisenbee with 41 assists and 13 aces; middle hitter Grace Williams with 17 kills; setter Trinity Galvan with 36 assists and 24 digs; and outside hitter Izzi Hoogendoorn with 16 kills and 25 digs.
“It was a long, exhausting day, and these girls played hard all day,” Galvan said. “A lot of the teams in this tournament were going three sets throughout the day. Competition was close and everyone was battling. I’m proud of how my athletes kept pushing themselves and leaving it all on the court.”
Middletown plays Clear Lake in Lakeport on Tuesday before returning home to take on Kelseyville.
