HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE >> It took 29 years for lightning to strike in the same place, but it finally did earlier this week on the infamous 15th hole at Hidden Valley Lake Course.

Tiffany Pickens, a member of the Hidden Valley Lake Women’s Golf Club, became the first woman and only the second person in course history to make a hole-in-one at the 15th hole while playing from the women’s tee, a drive of 251 yards.

Even more incredible is that the only other person to ace the hole, Dick Scott, a longtime and much-loved Hidden Valley Lake golfer who passed away April 26, is Pickens’ maternal grandfather. Scott accomplished that feat from the men’s white tee on Nov. 4, 1997.

Pickens’ mother, Teresa Sand, the 2026 Hidden Valley Golf Club captain, was on hand to witness a big and memorable family moment.
