Squad caps first season in NorCal Premier League by winning bronze championship

CLEARLAKE >> A 13-under soccer travel team made up of players from Clearlake and Lower Lake recently completed its first season in the NorCal Premier League with a 16-1-2 record.
The team went undefeated through the first half of the season and dropped only one game in the second half while claiming the league’s bronze championship.
“We’re incredibly proud of what these young athletes accomplished in their first year of competitive soccer,” head coach Ivahar Enriquez said. “Their hard work, dedication and teamwork have been amazing to watch, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this group.”
Among the standout players were midfielder Angel Perez and team captain and defender Ivan Martinez.
“Angel Perez was outstanding in the midfield, controlling the pace of play while finishing as one of the team’s leading scorers,” Enriquez said. “His vision, creativity and relentless work ethic made him a key contributor throughout both the fall and spring seasons.”
Martinez’s contributions were no less significant, according to Enriquez.
“Ivan Martinez, out team captain, led the defense with confidence and composure,” Enriquez said.
Added Enriquez, “Our players showed tremendous growth, dedication and teamwork throughout our inaugural year in competitive soccer.”
The team’s coaching staff consists of Enriquez and assistants Manuel Cuevas Mendoza and Jessica Torres. The roster features Martinez, Angel Perez, Edgar Enriquez, Melkis Cuevas Perez, Iven Miranda, Said Garcia, Misael Cardenas, Cesar Cortes, Kayla Cardenas, Carlos Almazan, Joseph Munoz, Mariana Aparicio, Said Florez, Juan Perez, Jose Pimentel and Khaleb Rosales.
