Rico scores goal, assists on another as Lancers win middle school co-ed soccer game

KELSYVILLE >> Mountain Vista scored the first two goals and held off Obsidian 3-2 in middle school co-ed soccer action Wednesday at Kelseyville.
Both teams scored twice in the second half after Mountain Vista took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
“We needed that win after a tough week last week,” Mountain Vista head coach Oscar Lopez said.
Bob White, Hiliana Rico and Inteus Lopez scored or Mountain Vista (4-2-1 league, 10-5) while Rico, Julian Arroyo and Erik Gomez all had assists.
“The whole team did excellent,” Lopez said.
Obsidian scoring wasn’t reported.
Mountain Vista is trying to reschedule another game against Obsidian that was rained out earlier this season, possibly on Friday, according to Lopez. The Lancers are home Monday to play Baechtel Grove in a non-league game at 4:30 p.m.
