EUGENE, Ore. >> Five Lake County track and field athletes are competing in the Nike Outdoor Nationals at the University of Oregon in Eugene.

The Nike Outdoor Nationals opened Thursday and run through Monday.

Competing from Lake County are Lower Lake High School’s Roy Percoats (incoming sophomore), Raijhier McKneely (incoming senior), Hadley Mick (incoming senior) and Christian Rincon (graduated senior) and Jojo Meadows of Kelseyville (incoming freshman).

On Thursday, Mick, McKneely, Rincon and Percoats placed 20th out of 35 teams in the 4×200-meter relay in the emerging elite division.

“The boys didn’t do too bad,” Lower Lake head coach Bobby Landgraf said. “It’s a long drive up to Eugene to compete at Hayward Field, and the 4×200 is one of those events you don’t get a lot of races or reps in, especially in California where it isn’t a standardized event. We had some injuries and illnesses, so not a lot of practice going into Thursday. Despite that, they broke the Lower Lake school record in the 4×200 with a time of 1:34.42 (one minute, 34.42 seconds), breaking the old record set in 2004 by over two seconds.”

“I’m excited to see what the boys do Saturday in the 4×100,” Landgraf added. “They’re excited, too. We’re hoping to make it out of prelims and race for a medal. There are a lot of nationally ranked athletes and incredibly competitive relay teams in attendance. It’s been the best competition these guys have ever seen, so it’s been a great experience for them.”

The top nine teams in the 4×100 advance to the finals and the top six receive medals.

Percoats, among the fastest freshman sprinters in Redwood Empire history during the recently completed 2026 high school season, competes in the 100 meters Monday. The top nine move into the finals and the top six win medals.

Meadows also competes in the shotput Monday. She’s ranked No. 3 going in and is hoping to bring home a medal, according to Landgraf.
