KELSEYVILLE >> Making a smooth transition from the wrestling mat to the motocross track, brothers Logun and Branson Whittle of Kelseyville reached the medal podium May 15-16 during the third annual Stadium GP Race in Reno and Sparks, Nevada.
This race is not your usual motocross race. While it does include plenty of dirt and jumps, there are some narrow obstacles to navigate, “crazy cattle panels in maze form,” white-knuckle time for those parents looking on, according to Brandon and Brittney Whittle.
“This is the boys’ second year being invited to this event and it’s become quite the family tradition,” Brittney Whittle said. “They actually race each other in all their classes, so our conversations at the dinner table are pretty entertaining and one of a kind.”
During action on May 15, Logun Whittle fought through a cluster of riders on the track to place third in the 85cc division for riders ages 12-16. On May 16, Branson Whittle led much of the way in the 85c division (ages 12-16) and ended up second at the checkered flag.
