Club volleyball team wins two out of three matches at Mendocino College in Ukiah

UKIAH >> The Konocti Bay 13s club volleyball team wrapped up its season Sunday at a club tournament in Ukiah, going 2-1 in the four-team field at Mendocino College in Ukiah.
Made up of 11- and 12-year-olds, the Konocti Bay 13s club came in second, finishing behind only the Konocti Bay 14s (3-0).
The 13s started their day off strong with a 25-16, 25-23 win over the Ukiah Prism 14s. Feeling a bit intimidated in their next match against the Konocti Bay 14s, the 13s dropped the first set 25-9 but played much better in the second set, a 25-19 loss.
The Konocti 13s came back strong in their final match, rallying for a 16-25, 25-14, 15-13 win against Team Vibe of Middletown.
“It was a fun way to end their season and great to see so much local talent,” Konocti 13s head coach Lynn Hanson said. “Five members of our 13s squad are from Ukiah, so it was great to see them play their own local club team.”
