Club volleyball team runs the table at Power League tournament

SAN MATEO >> The Never Say Die 15s club volleyball team had a perfect Saturday on the court, going 5-0 during a Northern California Volleyball Association Power League tournament in San Mateo.
Never Say Die defeated Vibe 15s-Onyx 21-25, 25-16, 15-11, FPVC 15 Fred 25-22, 25-15, Lakas 15 Power 25-16, 25-18, Spark 15-2 Anthony 28-26, 25-17, and Diablo 15-3 Green 25-19, 25-0 during its five matches.
“This week was a great confidence boost for our young ones,” Never Say Die coach Morgan Psalmonds said. “We didn’t have Nya (Martinez), so everyone stepped up in different ways. We played together as one, like a natural flow. They continued to play great volleyball when outside factors were coming into play.”
Added Psalmonds, “Lilly (Hamel) was not only amazing in the front, getting multiple blocks, but she played outstanding defense to keep her serve alive. All the back row players were going all out for balls, and out hitter were finally on time to the ball. They even said they felt like they were jumping higher.”
