LAS VEGAS >> The Never Say Die 17s club volleyball team couldn’t generate enough offense during its weekend tournament run at the Red Rock Rave Junior National Qualifier in Las Vegas.
“The 17s had to fight through some walls this weekend physically and mentally,” NSD head coach Marci Psalmonds said. “There were some bright spots though on defense where they ended the tournament with 239 digs and 26 blocks. They also had a good three days at the line with 24 aces.”
Added Psalmonds of the team’s Saturday-through-Monday performance, “We just need out offense to get going and we’re hoping to do that at the next tourney (March 29-30 in San Mateo).”
The 17s went 0-3 during Saturday action, losing to Utah Ice SDVBC of California, and Juggernaut of Colorado. They dropped their first two matches Sunday, falling to CVVC of Utah and Seal Beach Volleyball of California before finally getting into the win column against NorCal Volleyball of California.
A loss to Act 17 of California on Monday wrapped up the team’s tournament run.
