Broncos rally with five runs in bottom of the fifth for 12-8 home victory

MIDDLETOWN >> Middletown Middle School scored five times in the bottom of the fifth inning to erase an 8-7 deficit and beat Washington School of Cloverdale 12-8 in non-league action at Middletown.
Avery Zolensky pitched two innings in relief to earn the victory. She struck out three and walked four.
Peyton Beehler (2-for-4, RBI), Heather Warren (2-for-3, 2 RBIs) and Emmie Hernandez (2-for-2, RBI) sparked the Mustangs at the plate with help from Mia Martin 1-for-2, double) and Brennah Genetiano (1-for-3, triple, RBI).
The same two teams meet again Monday in Cloverdale at 4:30 p.m.
In other middle school softball action Wednesday:
Lucerne 5, Mountain Vista 3
At Kelseyville, Lucerne beat Mountain Vista.
