A, B squads post victories as league play opens up

KELSEYVILLE >> Jojo Meadows scored 15 points and Samaya Ellis had 14 as the Mountain Vista Middle School A girls basketball team opened its league schedule with a 40-21 victory over Upper Lake on Wednesday in Kelseyville.
Upper Lake stayed close for a half before Mountain Vista (1-0 league, 3-2 overall) pulled away over the final two quarters.
Mountain Vista also won the B game, 55-19, behind 15 points from Hazel Hanson and 12 from Maylee Antoni.
The Lancers are 1-0 in league and 2-0 overall.
Mountain Vista remains home Monday to play Middletown.
