LAKEPORT >> The Ukiah Wildcats beat the Clear Lake Cardinals 36-23 in non-league junior varsity girls basketball action Saturday in Lakeport.
“Unfortunately, we lost but it was a good effort by our team, and it was great to get some more court time before going into the final week of league play,” Clear Lake head coach Tony Farrington said. “Ukiah had two players that scored 25 points combined, and for the second half with our roster of only seven, we just seemed to run out of gas.”
Hailey Perez finished with eight points to lead the Cardinals (17-4) while Cali Albaum had four.
Clear Lake enters the final week of league play needing wins in its final two games – at Lower Lake on Tuesday and at Middletown on Thursday – to earn a share of the league title. At 9-1 entering the week, the Cardinals trail Middletown (10-0) in the league standings.
