County softball teams score mix results during non-league road action

CALISTOGA >> Clear Lake High School’s seniors flexed their collective muscles on Friday while pounding the Calistoga Wildcats 18-1 in non-league softball action at Calistoga. The game was called after five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Winning pitcher Atiana Patino tossed a two-hitter and struck out seven while Kam Cresto (1-for-2, 4 RBIs) and Lindee Bingham (2-for-3, 3 RBIs) combined to knock in seven runs as the Cardinals improved to 3-0.
“It’s nice seeing us get better every game,” Clear Lake head coach Scott Schaefers said. “Our fielding is getting better, and our seniors are leading the way on offense.”
Patino pitched her third game in five days.
Among other senior contributors were Faith McIntire, who went 2-for-2 with a double, a RBI and three runs scored, and Karsyn Greer, who went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
Clear Lake’s other hits belonged to Cali Albaum, Maddie Kollach, Anjoli Scott, Abbi Malley and Hailey Perez. Albaum, Scott, Malley, Perez Patino and Amelie Davis all had RBIs.
The Cardinals host Sutter on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
In other softball action Friday:
Willits 12, Upper Lake 2 (5 inn.)
At Willits, the Willits Wolverines built a 9-0 lead en route to a five-inning victory over the Upper Lake Cougars (1-1).
Upper Lake scored both of its runs in the top of the fourth to make it 9-2. Willits scored its final three runs in the bottom of the fifth, at which point the 10-run mercy rule ended the game.
Jordyn Parker and Aubree Sperber scored the Cougars’ runs. Ky Solorio doubled home a run and Kaylin Smith had Upper Lake’s other RBI.
No other statistics were reported.
Upper Lake hosts Willits on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
