Club volleyball team wins first of five-tournament series in Redding

REDDING >> The Konocti Bay under-12 club volleyball team posted a 5-0 record in the first of a five-tournament North State AAU series on Saturday in Redding.
Konocti Bay opened with pool-play victories over Pursuit 12s and UpTempo in straight sets, and a win over Willows. Advancing to the gold bracket, Konocti Bay beat the Willows 12s to advance to the championship match against the UpTempo 12s, who Konocti Bay beat 21-18, 21-14.
Konocti Bay is made up of players from Lake and Mendocino counties. Team members are Kylee Foley, Addison Holt, Ayla Green, Kori Koschik, Adrianna Cook, Lily Rico and Payton Bartholf. Itzia Rico is the head coach and Jake Koschik is the assistant coach.
