Broncos to face Mountain Vista in championship match Saturday morning

UPPER LAKE >> The Middletown Middle School B volleyball team, the No. 1 seed in the Lake County Junior High Athletic League postseason tournament, beat No. 4 seed Terrace School of Lakeport 26-24, 25-19 during first-round action Wednesday at Upper Lake Middle School.
“We started off a tad shaky but bounced back,” Middletown head coach Niki Emberson said. “Everyone contributed on offense and defense.”
Ariana Granados led the Broncos with eight service points, including seven aces. Madison Lewis added six service points and three aces while Remmi Harbison finished with 10 service points and two aces.
Middletown B faces Mountain Vista B, the No. 2 seed, in the championship match Saturday at 11 a.m. at Upper Lake Middle School.
Middletown A, the No. 3 seed, plays Lucerne, the No. 6 seed, Thursday at 4 p.m. The winner takes on No. 2 seed Upper Lake in the semifinals. Mountain Vista is the No. 1 seed in the A division.
