Middletown Middle School teams notch wins

A, B volleyball squads open league play with straight-set victories over Obsidian

CLEARLAKE >> The Middletown Middle School A and B volleyball teams opened league play Wednesday with wins over Obsidian Middle School in Clearlake.

The Middletown A team won 25-16, 25-15 behind six ace and two kills from Lily Day, eight service points, including three aces, two kills and two assists from Stella Brand, and five points and three aces from Rylee Gabbert.

The Middletown B squad prevailed 25-11, 25-20, led by Mia Martin’s seven aces. Other standouts were Remmi Harbison with six service points and three ace, and Madison Lewis with five service point and three aces.

“I have 14 girls on my team, and it was nice to get them all playing time today,” Middletown B head coach Niki Emberson said.

Middletown’s teams are home Monday to play Mountain Vista.
