Middletown B squad also nails down league win

LAKEPORT >> Jodeci Meadows led the way with 12 points and teammate Mezzy Ellis added seven points to help the Mountain Vista A girls basketball team edge Terrace 31-28 in league action Wednesday evening in Lakeport.
“This was a tight game the entire way,” Mountain Vista head coach Shaun Robinson said. “Ultimately, the Lancers held the lead through all four quarters.”
Mountain Vista held a 17-12 halftime lead.
Aubrey Mullen and Samaya Ellis had five points apiece for Mountain Vista as the Lancers improved to 4-1 in league play and 9-4 overall.
Terrace scoring was not reported.
Mountain Vista travels to Upper Lake on Monday.

Obsidian 36, Middletown 34
At Clearlake, avenging a one-point overtime loss to Middletown earlier this season, the Obsidian Bears A team beat the Broncos 36-34 behind 12 points from Analayah Beck and 10 more from Mariah Robinson.
“Middletown is a great team and played their hearts out tonight,” Obsidian head coach Claire Alderson said. “The A-team grade competition in our league this year is amazing. This group of girls is highly skilled. Every game is competitive and I never know who is going to win going into any of our league games.”
Obsidian improved to 2-3 in league play with its win. The Bears are home next Wednesday to play Mountain Vista.
In the B game between Middletown and Obsidian, Middletown prevailed 18-13 behind six points from Emmie Hernandez and four each from Lola Fults and Madison Lewis.
“The girls’ defense was the difference in this game,” Middletown head coach Dustin Fults said. “We made stops when we needed to.”
Middletown’s B squad hosts Terrace School on Monday.
