Knights beat Fort Bragg, Credo, Clear Lake in CMC opener at Fort Bragg

FORT BRAGG >> Kelseyville High School’s wrestling team opened the Coastal Mountain Conference dual season with wins over Fort Bragg, 59-30, Credo, 72-6, and Clear Lake, 45-29, on Wednesday evening in Fort Bragg.

In their match against Fort Bragg, the Knights recorded six points and one technical fall while receiving two forfeits. Against Credo, Kelseyville added four more pins and one technical fall with two forfeit wins. In the Clear Lake dual, the Knights recorded four pins, one victory by decision and three forfeit wins.

Hayden Brown, Branden Brown, Logun Whittle, Laney Fossa, Cody Holmes, Andrew Souza and Cassius Cole all went 3-0 for Kelseyville.

“Our journey has been fueled by determination and the momentum we’ve built together,” Kelseyville head coach Shane Carl said. “Each tough match we’ve faced has only strengthened our trust in one another. As we continue to push forward further into the wrestling season, I couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come as a team from the start. We’re not just focused on winning, we’re building a legacy of confidence and resilience that will carry us to our ultimate goal and that will continue on well after this year.”

Added Carl, “We’re going to strive to keep this momentum going and show everyone just how strong we are together as a team.”

Kelseyville travels to Upper Lake next Wednesday to take on the host Cougars as well as the Middletown Mustangs.
