Broncos go on the road to defeat Lucerne Middle School

LUCERNE >> Middletown Middle School’s A and B volleyball teams notched league wins over Lucerne on Monday evening in Lucerne.
Middletown A prevailed 26-24, 21-25, 15-12. Carlee Williams led the Broncos with 11 service points, including five aces, and one kill. Rylee Gabbert added nine service points, four aces and one kill. Anaya Kilstrom had three aces, two blocks and one kill.
The Middletown B team won in straight sets, 25-13, 25-17. Mia Martin led the way with seven aces and two kills.
“Everyone got playing time and they all contributed,” Middletown B head coach Niki Emberson said. “It is always a challenge to play in Lucerne because their gym is so small. Our hitters and servers have to hold back on their power and be smart about placing the ball.”
