KELSEYVILLE >> A seven-run second inning propelled the Kelseyville High School junior varsity baseball team to a 17-0 win over the Cloverdale Eagles in five innings Friday afternoon in Kelseyville.

Kelseyville (9-0 league, 11-1 overall) hosts Fort Bragg in a big North Central League I game Tuesday at 4 p.m., the league finale for the Knights.

“We have a very tough final home game at home versus second-place Fort Bragg,” Kelseyville head coach Sean Navarro said. “They have only one loss, which was to us. Last game was very close, but we were able to win 6-4. They (Timberwolves) are a very good and well-coached team. They hit the ball well and have a solid defense. We will have our hands full in this must-win game.”

Jacob Amendola went 3-for-3 with a triple and scored three times for the Knights against Cloverdale. Carson Stone also went 3-for-3, including two doubles with three runs scored. Ethan Wheeler and Case Pivniska added doubles.

Reese Johnson pitched three innings for the win while striking out six. Deake Lyndall worked the final two innings and struck out two.

“I was very proud of how my guys played in this game, but will need to continue our good play one more time,” Navarro said with an eye toward Tuesday’s game with Fort Bragg.
