ROHNERT PARK >> It was a tough Wednesday afternoon on the course for Lake County’s two entries in a Coastal Mountain Conference South golf match on the par-71 Foxtail South layout in Rohnert Park.
Two-time defending South champion Middletown came in fourth in the five-team field while Kelseyville, which didn’t have the necessary four players to constitute a complete team, came in fifth. St. Helena topped the field with a score of 361 followed by Sonoma Academy with 371, Technology with 387 and Middletown with 400.
Middletown’s Bodhi Moore posted the low individual round for the fourth CMC South match in a row, shooting a 5-over-par 76 that included one birdie. The senior was the only golfer to shoot in the 70s. Lele Hanna (83) and Jack Robinson (84) of St. Helena along with Eli Goldberg (84) and Lucca Modica (84) of Sonoma Academy had the other low rounds.
Mason Harmon’s 98 led the Knights.
“A frustrating day for KHS golf,” Kelseyville head coach Tim Conrad said. “We went with three kids today because of illness. We did not have enough to even qualify today (as a complete team).”
St. Helena, the runner-up to Middletown each of the last two years in the CMC South standings, has a commanding lead this season at 15-1. Technology and Sonoma Academy are tied for second at 8-8, Middletown is fourth at 7-9, and Kelseyville is 2-14.
The CMC South teams travel to Hidden Valley Lake, Middletown’s home course, next Thursday.
