LAKEPORT >> Amelie Davis homered for the second game in a row, smacking a three-run shot to lead the Terrace Middle School softball team to an 11-2 win over Upper Lake on Monday afternoon in Lakeport.
Davis went 3-for-4 as the Vikings improved to 5-1 on the season.
Winning pitcher Sophia Gonzalez struck out nine and walked four while also going 2-for-3 at the plate.
Other Terrace leaders were Ava Gamble (2-for-3, RBI), Cassie Gomez (2-for-2, RBI), Alessandra Zavala (1-for-1, 2 RBIs) and Maci Parker (1-for-1, RBI).
“Errors in the beginning didn’t stop the defense from coming together and playing great, led by the play of Mariah Pruitt at shortstop,” Terrace coach Lynn Cruz said. “Our team is getting better and better with each game we play. It’s a great group of girls to coach.”
