Kelseyville’s recent run of solid play comes to end in non-league loss at Healdsburg

HEALDSBURG >> Winners of five of six entering play, the Kelseyville Knights had their forward momentum stopped cold Wednesday afternoon by the Healdsburg Greyhounds, 14-2, in non-league action at Healdsburg.
Healdsburg (12-9) built a 10-0 lead before Kelseyville (7-11) finally broke through with two runs in the top of the fourth inning.
The Knights used three pitchers – Madison Byrne, Vanessa Reyes and AJ Wurm – in the four-inning game and issued eight walks.
Kelseyville had only two hits, including a double by Wurm (1-for-3). Mati Mateer went 1-for-1 with a RBI.
The Knights have three league games remaining. They travel to Cloverdale on Friday, stay on the road Tuesday against Fort Bragg, and return home Wednesday, May 13 to take on Upper Lake.
