MIDDLETOWN >> Kelseyville scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to break open a close game and went on to shut out the Middletown Mustangs 9-0 in North Central League I junior varsity baseball action at Middletown.
Reese Johnson struck out 15 in six innings for the Knights (3-0 league, 5-1 overall). Kolton Costlow took the loss, striking out 10 and walking eight in 5 2/3 innings.
“I was very proud to watch my guys battle the entire game,” Kelseyville head coach Sean Navarro said.
Tyler Galamay went 2-for-3 with a double for Middletown while Austin Davis and Fernando Ruiz also had hits for the Mustangs.
Kelseyville individual batting statistics were not available.
