SANTA ROSA >> Middletown High School’s Bodhi Moore fired a 6-over-par 69 to lead the Coastal Mountain Conference South field Thursday at the par-63 Sugarloaf Golf Course in Santa Rosa.

Moore’s round was 12 shots better than the next lowest score in the field, which was a three-way tie between St. Helena’s Jack Robinson, Russell Wilms and Burley Weeman, all with 81. Lele Hanna of St. Helena and Mason Harmon of Kelseyville carded 82s.

St. Helena dominated team scoring with 325 (the combined four low individual rounds). Technology and Middletown tied at 356, but the fifth-man tiebreaker went to Technology. Kelseyville was just a stroke back at 357 while Sonoma Academy had 365.

By finishing ahead of Sonoma Academy in the team standings, Kelseyville posted its first head-to-head conference win since 2021. Once a CMC South powerhouse under longtime head coach John Berry, the Knights have struggled in recent seasons.

Second-year Kelseyville head coach Tim Conrad was pleased with his team’s effort, but especially with Harmon’s round that included seven pars and a birdie.

“We had a few really nice rounds out of freshman Mason Harmon and senior Caleb Lopez,” Conrad said. “Mason shot really well and had a consistent round. Caleb had five pars. Sugarloaf is a tight course and not super long. We talked about keeping the ball in play. For the most part we did a much better job at that this time out.”

Added Conrad of his mostly young team’s improvement, “We are making improvement and looking for more as the weeks progress.”

After Harmon’s team-leading 82, Lopez finished with 88, Nate Sherman 93, Adam Astrup 94 and Ethan Gambill 98.

For Middletown, the two-time defending South champion, Grant Sisson had 93, Grant McMillian 95 and Jimmy Reynolds 99.

Team leaders for Technology were Dilyan Lopez with 83 and Ollie Berger with 89. Cooper Chavigny led Sonoma Academy with 84 while Chase Stiger had 91.

The CMC South teams tee it back up Wednesday at Rooster Run in Petaluma.
