Frosh-soph girls squad tops field at conference meet

CLOVERDALE >> Kelseyville High School’s Jacob Parker won the high jump and finished second in the long jump during a Coastal Mountain Conference track and field meet held Wednesday at Cloverdale High School.

Technology, Credo, Anderson Valley and Summerfield Waldorf also took part in the meet along with the host Eagles.

Varsity boys

Parker cleared 5 feet, 4 inches in the high jump and a personal-best 17-10 in the long jump.

Another Kelseyville standout was John Carr, who was second in the shotput (34-10) and third in the discus (94-10).

The top three scoring teams were Technology (162), Cloverdale (113) and Credo (103).

Varsity girls

Kelseyville’s Kylee Denham won the 100 hurdles (19.72) with teammate Grace Hobbs in second place with a season-best time of 21.39. Denham added a third in the 800 (2 minutes, 46.75 seconds, a personal best), and she ran a leg on the Knights’ second -place 4×400 relay team, which had a season-best time of 5:12.17. Other team members are Hoggs, Lorena Pantaleon and Arionna Sanderson.

Elizabeth Erlandson also placed in three events for the Knights, finishing second in the 100 (13.59) and 200 (28.84), and running a leg on Kelseyville’s second-place 4×100 relay team. Sanderson, Estefany Munoz and Dakotah Burton ran the other legs.

Other top finishers were Hobbs, who was second in the shotput (22-4.5); Burton, who was second in the 400 with a personal-best time of 1:10.08; and Aylin Aguilar, who took third in the 3,200 (15:02.79).

The top three scoring teams were Credo (147), Kelseyville (136) and Technology (54).

Frosh-soph girls

Kelseyville’s frosh-soph girls squad finished first in team scoring with 126 points to Cloverdale’s 112.

Ximena Herren won the 800 in 3:05.61 and the shotput in 22-4, Alexandra Garcia finished first with a personal-best time of 7:13.76 in the 1,600 and second in the 800 with a personal-best time of 3:06.48, and Kyla Gregorie won the long jump (11-5.5) and finished third in the 200 (34.02).

Also placing high in two events was Skyla Olson-Zepeda, who placed second in the 1,600 with a personal-best time of 8:02.07 and second in the 800 at 3:31.04.

Other top Kelseyville finishers were Astrid Morales-Recinos, first in the 400 with a personal-best time of 1:35.79; and Aubrey Wiser, who was third in the 1,600 with a personal-best time of 8:08.81.

Frosh-soph boys

Kelseyville’s Angel Ruiz won the shotput in the frosh-soph boys division with a personal-best toss of 35-11.5, and Ori Quetlah finished second in the 400 with a personal-best time of 1:09.13.

The top three scoring teams were Technology (182), Cloverdale (72) and Kelseyville (55).
