LAKEPORT >> Terrace Middle School defeated Fort Bragg 34-32 in overtime during boys basketball action Monday in Lakeport.

Terrace (1-1) outscored Fort Bragg 4-2 in the overtime period.

Gino Watchman led the Vikings with 11 points and six rebounds while Eric Chavez added six points and a team-best 18 rebounds and four blocks. Pops Horne, a sixth-grader pulled up for the game, contributed five points and seven rebounds.

“We started slow and only had one point after a quarter, but our defense was very good and kept us in the game,” Terrace head coach Jeremy Hopkins said. “Chavez was a beast in the middle, eating up boards and blocking shots.”

Added Hopkins, “We lost to them about a week and a half ago, so it was nice to get them back. We will need to figure out scoring, but I think our defense can keep us in games.”
