Kaitlyn Crow wins two weight classes, runs season record to 12-2

BENICIA >> Twenty-nine Gladiators Wrestling Club team members brought home 27 medals, including 11 firsts, from the Battle of the Strait on Sunday in Benicia.
The Gladiators also came away with nine second-place medals and seven third-place medals. They posted tournament bests in match points (718), wins (76) and pins (39).
Kaitlyn Crow wrestled in two weight classes, winning both. She was 8-0 on the day with four pins and is 12-2 on the season.
Other double-medal winners were Elijah Tucker (one first, one second), who went 3-1 with two pins and is 4-2 on the season; Brantley Paminto (one first, one second), who went 7-1 with five pins and is 10-1 on the season; Colin Crow (one first, one second), who went 4-1 with three pins and is 10-4 overall; Jameson Philpot (one first, one second), who went 5-1 with one technical fall and one pin and is 5-4 on the season; Thomas Philpot (one first, one third), who went 6-1 with three pins and is 7-3 overall; and Kailaya Philpot (one first, one third), who went 7-1 with six points and is 9-1 on the season.
Other first-place medals went to Yaretzi Saucedo-Briseno, who went 2-0 and is 4-0 on the season; Fredrick Jeffries, who went 3-1 with two pins and is 4-2 overall; and Olyver Dugger, who went 3-0 with one technical fall and is 5-2 on the season.
Other second-place medalists were Lily Oaks, David Herr, William Villa, Gary Oaks and Branson Whittle. Other third-place medals went to Tyler Luciano, Maverick Paminto, Alex Marks Martinez, John Young and Logun Whittle.
Fourth-place finishers were Hector Baracio, Kylie Dugger, Jaxden Maitland and Maverick Paminto, Alyssa Hopkins came in fifth.
