UKIAH >> Emma Davis hit all three of her free throws while scoring a team-best nine points to lead the Middletown Middle School A girls basketball team to a 28-14 non-league win over Pomolita Middle School on Monday in Ukiah.
Grace Williams added six points and Alina Kilstrom had five as the Broncos improved to 2-0 on the season.
“Once again we had a balanced attack on both offense and defense with contributions from the entire team,” Middletown head coach Shannon Williams said as six different Broncos reached the scoring column. “We had standout defensive performances from Anaya Kilstrom and Trinity Galvan.”
Added Williams, “We have a very deep bench and every single one of my girls can play. Emma Davis really shined tonight and was dominant on both ends of the court.”
Middletown opens its league schedule on Dec. 2 at home against Obsidian Middle School of Clearlake.
Pomolita won both the B and C games. In B action, Pomolita prevailed 21-13. Katera Gotz and Remmi Harbison had four points apiece for the Broncos. In C action, Pomolita won 21-8.
“Our C team is working hard and starting to come together as a team,” Williams said.
