CLEARLAKE >> Obsidian beat Middletown 25-22, 25-23 in A-team middle school volleyball action Wednesday evening in Clearlake.

“Collectively we missed 10 serves and had 14 hitting errors,” Middletown head coach Vanessa Davis said. “That is what got us in the end.”

Emma Davis finished with seven kills, service points and three aces for Middletown. Lilliaunna Reyes contributed eight assists, three kills, three service points and one ace, and Jaquelin Nunez had three kills and three aces.

Middletown suited up only seven players for the match.

“Back to fundamentals in practice tomorrow,” Davis said.

Obsidian statistics were not reported.

Middletown opens play in the Upper Lake Tournament beginning Friday at 2 p.m.
