A, B squads post league wins over Obsidian Middle School

MIDDLETOWN >> Nine different Middletown Middle School players found the scoring column Monday night as the Broncos’ girls basketball A team beat Obsidian 47-12 in the league opener for both teams at Middletown.
Emma Davis and Anaya Kilstrom scored 10 points apiece for Middletown (1-0 league, 3-0 overall) while Lilliauna Reyes added six points and Cali Tripp and Grace Williams each had five.
“Cali Tripp came off the bench and was a force with a team-high nine rebounds,” Middletown head coach Shannon Williams said. “Our defense was on point and Anaya Kilstrom led the team with six steals.”
Added Williams, “From start to finish we were consistent with both offense and defense. Everyone on my team got playing time and we continued to maintain our high level of play no matter which five I put on the court.”
Middletown hosts Terrace School of Lakeport on Wednesday.
Middletown Middle School’s B team also won, 15-7, behind seven points and four steals from Sophia Azevedo and six points and five steals from Sophia Perez. Carlee Williams added three steals and one rebounds.
“We worked out a few different defensive options tonight,” Middletown head coach Erika Galvan said. “We have a strong defensive group this year.”
