CLEARLAKE >> Alex Calderon scored 17 points to help lead the Obsidian Middle School A boys basketball team to a 50-23 win over Middletown on Wednesday night in Clearlake.
“I was very impressed with the way the boys attacked the ball tonight, we were all over the place on defense,” Obsidian head coach Josh Benfante said. “Both starters and bench played amazing tonight.”
Braylen Fanucchi and Adriyan Diaz scored eight and seven points, respectively, for the Bears, who improved to 2-3.
Obsidian also won the B game, beating Middletown 59-47 behind 14 points apiece from Messiah Jones and George Mendoza, and another nine from Damian Giambra.
The Obsidian B team is 4-3 on the season.
In other boys action Wednesday, Upper Lake B defeated Lucerne B 52-40. No other details were reported.
