Quarterback Brown passes for 164 yards, two touchdowns

CLOVERDALE >> Kimo Brown’s 75-yard touchdown pass to Brayton Thomas in the opening minute of the game paved the way for a Kelseyville 38-7 win over the Cloverdale Eagles on Friday night in North Central League I junior varsity football action at Cloverdale.
The points kept flowing for the Knights (2-1 league, 3-2) throughout the first half. Aiden Smith scored on a 71-yard run, Brown and Hugh O’Boyle connected on a 26-yard touchdown pass, and Aurilius Santos blocked a punt and returned it 30 yards for another score to make it 28-0. Kicker George Gonzalez hit a short field goal before halftime to increase the Knights’ lead to 31-0.
Kelseyville added a final score in the fourth quarter on Andrew Souza’s 9-yard run.
The Eagles were on the move late in the game until Deake Lyndall picked off a Cloverdale pass.
Brown went 7-for-10 for 164 yards. Smith led the team on the ground with 72 yards.
Lyndall, Weech Pasalo and Case Pivniska all had seven tackles.
The Knights have a bye this coming Friday before returning to action Oct. 11 in Upper Lake at 5 p.m.
