Lower Lake pee wees shut out Northshore

LOWER LAKE >> Freddy Jeffries rushed for two touchdowns, passed for another and also scored on a fumble return to carry the pee wee Lower Lake Trojans to a 34-0 victory over the Northshore Cougars on Saturday evening at Gordon Sadler Field in Lower Lake.
The game was part of “The Battle for the Lake Trophy” and Lower Lake won all three games in the best-two-of-three series with Northshore.
“My defense is very solid and disciplined,” Lower Lake head coach Daniel Hooten said. “I am really proud of these kids and how they tackle.”
Jeffries finished with 75 rushing yards. He connected with Brantley Paminto on a 10-yard touchdown pass and with Vincent Steffen on a conversion pass. Along with his strip-six fumble recovery and touchdown, Jeffries also logged a quarterback sack.
Kameron Richardson’s 93 rushing yards led the team. He also scored a touchdown for Lower Lake.
Along with touchdown reception, Paminto had a quarterback sack.
Also contributing to the win were Maxwell Wilkins with 11 rushing yards and an extra point, Wyatt Hooten with nine rushing yards and D’Angelo Negrete with an extra point.
Lower Lake (2-1) handed Northshore (2-1) its first loss of the season. The Trojans have a bye this weekend before returning to action Saturday, Sept. 21 at home against Fort Bragg at 4 p.m. Northshore is home Saturday to play Fort Bragg at 4 p.m.
