Northshore pee wees win in final seconds

Boehm’s second touchdown run beats Cloverdale 12-7

CLOVERDALE >> After heartbreaking losses to the Cloverdale Chargers in 2022 and 2023, the Northshore pee wee team emerged with a hard-fought 12-7 win Saturday afternoon at Cloverdale during Mendo-Lake Empire Junior Football League action.

Northshore trailed 7-6 with less than 30 seconds remaining in the game when running back Dean Boehm scored his second touchdown of the day to give the Cougars a 12-7 lead.

Cloverdale beat Northshore with no time left on the clock the past two years, but the Cougars were able to get a bit of revenge this year, anchored by a strong performance from their defense. Zayden Suzor led the way with 10 total tackles and a fumble recovery while teammate Carter Kitchens had five tackles and a fumble recovery.

Northshore is now 3-2 on the season. The Cougars are home next Saturday to host Middletown (2-2) at 4 p.m. The junior varsity and varsity games follow.
