SRJC sends Eagles to three-set loss in non-conference action at Ukiah

UKIAH >> Mendocino College dropped its season-opening women’s volleyball match to Santa Rosa Junior College 25-23, 25-12, 25-21 during non-conference play Thursday evening in Ukiah.
Makayla Mace’s 13 digs and five kills led the Eagles (0-1). Cali Schnabl added 11 digs while AJ Wurm had 10 digs, 18 assists and an ace. Other Mendocino leaders were Brooke Benson with four kills, five blocks, two aces and one dig, and Matisyn Mateer with four kills, three digs and a block.
Mendocino College returns to action Saturday against Porterville and Ohlone College at the Ohlone Classic in Fremont beginning at 2 p.m.
