Middletown remains undefeated with forfeit win over Terrace School

UPPER LAKE >> Mountain Vista Middle School’s A and B co-ed soccer teams scored wins Wednesday afternoon in Upper Lake, the A team beating the Wildcats 3-1 and the B team prevailing 1-0.
In the A game, Alonzo Raygoza scored goals for the Lancers (4-1 league, 9-4 overall), who also received help from Upper Lake in the form of a second-half own goal. Erik Gomez and Hiliana Rico.
“Walker Holt made a lot of great saves,” Mountain Vista head coach Oscar Lopez said of his keeper.
Another standout for the Lancers was Gomez, according to Lopez.
“He was anywhere, everywhere,” Lopez said of Gomez. “I thought he played an outstanding game.”
Mountain Vista led 1-0 at halftime.
The Lancers are home Monday to place Terrace at 4:30 p.m.
In the B game, Aaliyah Macias scored the game’s lone goal early in the first half to lift Mountain Vista to the win. Inteus Lopez had the assist.
“Charles Johnson had a great game in the frame,” Lopez said.

Middletown remained undefeated with a forfeit victory over Terrace School.
The Broncos are 5-0 in league and 6-0 overall. They return to action Monday against Obsidian in Lower Lake at 4:30 p.m.
