Middletown golfer fires 1-under-par 35 on back nine at Rooster Run in Petaluma

PETALUMA >> The Middletown Mustangs finished second as a team Thursday during a Coastal Mountain Conference South match at the par-72 Rooster Run course in Petaluma, but it wasn’t for lack of effort.
David Sisson earned medalist honors for the fourth straight South match by shooting a 6-over-par 78 that featured three birdies, including a 1-under-par 35 on the back nine.
Sonoma Academy won team honors with a score of 333 to Middletown’s 353, Technology’s 398 and St. Helena’s 412. The Mustangs still lead the South standings with a 10-2 record followed by Sonoma Academy at 8-4.
Sonoma Academy’s Neil Bansal had the next best round after Sisson’s 78, firing an 82. Middletown’s Grant McMillian carded an 84 while Technology’s Dilyan Lopez had 89. Other low rounds went to St. Helena’s Elias Kelperis (91) and Middletown’s Jimmy Reynolds (92, with one birdie).
The CMC South teams return to action next Thursday at Hidden Valley Lake. Tee time is 1:30 p.m.
