BOONVILLE >> Winning all five matches in straight sets, the Middletown High School tennis team closed out its road schedule Thursday with a 5-0 Coastal Mountain Conference North win against Anderson Valley in Boonville.
Middletown, the two-time defending North champion currently second in the standings behind undefeated Mendocino, plays its final four matches at home.
Will Hoskins beat Wyatt Gatlin 6-2, 6-1 in first singles while Harrison Brown defeated Guy Kephart 6-0, 6-2 in second singles.
“Will is getting his confidence and played strong today,” Hart said. “Harrison cruised and was strong as well.”
In third singles, Leland Pike beat Damien Eligio 6-2, 6-0.
“Leland is getting his singles game going and played a great match mixing a serve and volley game with strong ground strokes and had a good match against a strong player,” Hart said.
In first doubles, Nalu Johnson and Luis Pamatz defeated Gryffin Chagoya and Arturo Garcia 6-1, 6-2.
In second doubles, Jasiah Pike and Anthony Lopez beat Anthony Orsonio and Aranza Hernandez 6-0, 6-0.
“Anthony has been struggling with his confidence, and I think today helped him playing with friend Jasiah and just having fun together and enjoying the game again,” Hart said.
