Middletown’s Davis, Kelseyville’s Hanson help club volleyball team at Capital City Clash

ROSEVILLE >> The Empire 15 National team, which includes Emma Davis of Middletown and Cassidy Hanson of Kelseyville, placed second with a 7-1 record on Saturday and Sunday at Hype Nation’s Capital City Clash in Roseville.

Empire 15 beat Rage 15-1 (25-12, 25-11), Aspire 15-1 (26-24, 25-19), TVA Smack 15-1 (25-17, 25-17), NSVA 15-2 (25-20, 25-16), FPVC 15-2 (25-21, 25-19), Five Star 15-1 (25-18, 25-15) and Vista (25-21, 25-22) to advance to the championship match against FPVC-1. Empire 15 took the match to three sets, but FPVC-1 emerged with a 25-16, 19-25, 15-9 win.

Empire 15 National heads to Las Vegas for the Red Rock Rave National Championship Qualifier on April 4-6. The team has a combined 21-1 record over its last three tournaments.
