Upper Lake edges out Clear Lake for second place by a single stroke

MENDOCINO >> Fort Bragg High School’s golf team won by a comfortable margin Tuesday, beating Upper Lake, Clear Lake and Willits in Coastal Mountain Conference North action at the par-72 Little River course in Mendocino.
Fort Bragg finished with a score of 390 (the combined total of the team’s four low individual rounds) to register its second North win this season. Upper Lake (423) edged out Clear Lake (424) by a stroke for second place, and Willits had 436.
Fort Bragg’s Ash Hebden posted the low round of the day with 89 while teammate Ryan Wlter and Willits’ Cole Lane each had 92. Other low rounds went to Upper Lake’s Tyler Collins (94) and Clear Lake’s Francis Rivera (97) and Levi Ewing (97). Upper Lake’s Jaden Nunez carded a 103.
At the halfway point of the North race, Fort Bragg is atop the standings with 22 points, Upper Lake has 19, Clear Lake 16 and Willits 15.
The CMC North teams return to action next Wednesday at Tayman Park in Healdsburg at 11 a.m.
