UPPER LAKE >> Marina Quiett homered and doubled Thursday afternoon to help lift Upper Lake to a 15-12 victory over Eagle Peak in middle school softball action at Upper Lake.
“The Wildcats’ lineup stayed aggressive at the plate and produced several big extra-base hits throughout the game,” Upper Lake head coach Derick Hughes said.
Jordin Hughes went 2-for-3 with two doubles while Charlie Robbins added another double. Quiett’s home run in the fourth inning was the biggest blow, according to Hughes.
“It gave us a huge momentum boost,” Hughes said.
Sabrina Wenning and Dakota Pasalo also swung the bat well for the Wildcats, according to Hughes.
“Overall, all of the girls did great and I’m really proud of their performance in their first game,” Hughes said. “Eagle Peak was a tough team, but our girls held out strong and came home with the win.”
