Lancers compete in annual Jaycees Tournament in Crescent City

CRESCENT CITY >> Mountain Vista Middle School’s eighth-grade boys basketball team finished seventh in the A-1 bracket of the Jaycees Tournament on Saturday in Crescent City.
Mountain Vista beat Anderson 42-34 in the seventh-place game behind 10 points from Damian Hulbert, nine from Inteus Lopez and seven from Deegan Wood.
Lopez was named to the All-Tournament team while Jeffrey Cline placed second in the A-1 Hoop Shoot contest.
In earlier action Saturday, Mountain Vista fell 50-40 to Ferndale in the consolation semifinals. Lopez led the way with 13 points while Cline and Dylan Bohan each had six, both players with two 3-pointers apiece.
