LAKE COUNTY >> Middletown High School senior Jon Hawkins is the most valuable player on the 2026 edition of the All-North Central League I boys basketball team as selected by the league’s coaches.

Middletown, the undisputed NCL I champion, landed five players on the All-League team. Fort Bragg, runner-up in the league standings, had the next most with three.

Hawkins, a multi-sport standout for the Mustangs, was a force at both ends of the floor for the Mustangs. He scored his 1,000th career point late in the season on a slam dunk. Surprisingly, the one sport Hawkins won’t play in college is basketball. He has committed to the College of Idaho where he will play football and baseball for the Yotes beginning with the 2026-27 sports season.

First team

NCL I players earning first-team status included two of Hawkins’ teammates, sophomore center Emmitt Lloyd and junior guard Harrison Barnes. They are joined on the first team by Clear Lake senior guard Zane McAuely, who like Hawkins scored his 1,000th point during the season, and seniors Dane Salo of Fort Bragg and Dean Sommer of St. Helena.

Second team

Honored on the All-League second team were Lake County players Willy Tadder of Middletown and Gordon Astrup of Kelseyville, both sophomores, and senior AJ Bruch of Clear Lake. Also selected were junior Chris Hernandez of Fort Bragg and sophomore Latif Basile of St. Helena.

Honorable mentions

Receiving All-League honorable mentions were Middletown senior Jasiah Pike, Lower Lake sophomore Noah Hakala, Upper Lake senior Landen Robisnon, Fort Bragg junior Carter Killion and Cloverdale sophomore Jaxson Randolph.
